Alpha Feto Protein

AFP is a protein produced mainly by the fetal liver and is measured in adults to screen for liver cancer and germ cell tumors. In pregnancy, it helps assess fetal development and detect certain birth defects. Abnormal levels guide further diagnostic imaging or prenatal testing.
